Vertical winders achieve tension control mainly in the following ways:
1 Mechanical tension control method
Tension roller adjustment
Vertical winders are usually equipped with tension rollers. The tension of the material is controlled by adjusting the position and pressure of the tension roller. For example, when the material tension is low, the tension can be increased by increasing the pressure of the tension roller on the material so that the material generates greater friction when passing through the tension roller. The tension roller is generally installed at an appropriate position on the winding path, and its upper and lower positions or angles can be adjusted to meet different tension requirements.
Friction disc mechanism
The tension is controlled by the friction between the friction discs. During the winding process, the material bypasses the friction discs. By adjusting the pressure between the friction discs, the friction force on the material can be changed, thereby controlling the tension. This method is simple and direct, and is more suitable for some winding tasks that do not require extremely high tension accuracy. For example, when winding some thicker materials such as plastic films, basic tension control effects can be achieved by adjusting the pressure of the friction discs manually or with simple mechanical devices.
2Electrical tension control method
Tension sensor feedback control
Installing a tension sensor is the key to achieving precise tension control. The tension sensor can measure the tension of the material in real time and feed the signal back to the control system. The control system compares the set tension value with the feedback signal, and then controls the winding speed by adjusting the motor speed or torque. For example, when the sensor detects that the tension is too high, the control system will reduce the motor speed, slow down the winding speed, and thus reduce the tension; conversely, when the tension is too low, speed up the winding speed. This method can achieve high-precision tension control and is suitable for materials with high winding quality requirements, such as high-precision metal foil, electronic film, etc.
Inverter controls motor torque
The inverter is used to adjust the torque of the motor. The inverter changes the power supply frequency and voltage of the motor according to the instructions of the control system, thereby adjusting the output torque of the motor. During the winding process, the tension of the material can be controlled by changing the motor torque. For example, for some materials that need to maintain a constant tension during the winding process, the inverter can automatically adjust the motor torque according to the pre-set torque curve as the winding diameter increases or decreases to ensure the stability of the tension.
